Durham Magazine

PictureDURM has in a monthly, full-page feature in Durham Magazine, showing welcome recognition that the community appreciates the everyday perspectives of its citizens. Meredith works with magazine editorial staff to curate a photograph that coordinates with the issue's theme.

Says one local resident whose photograph was featured, "I love getting to 'see' other people's adventures in and views of the city, which in turn inspires me to go and out and explore Durham and other places and find a way to tell a story via the camera on my iPhone. Thanks for the inspiration!"

Clarion Content

PictureDURM's collaboration with Urban Ministries received press in Clarion Content, a local independent news source. "PictureDURM Reaches Out" shares why these voices are so important and provides context for why inclusivity  has been an integral part of the project's vision from the beginning.

Says Aaron Mandel, "I shook my head in wonder about the small world, true story, hometown nature of it all. We are a circle. PictureDURM is a reminder: it is up to us, People."

StoryDriven

PictureDURM was selected as the inaugural focus of the Reel Durham series, a project of the talented video production group, StoryDriven. Through the feature, learn more about the PictureDURM story as well as some storytelling tips that you can immediately apply to your personal or business life.

Says Bryce McNabb, "I sometimes feel that social media can isolate us. But give the right tool to a special person, and they’ll unleash their idea to bring people together.  And that’s what I find endearing about what Meredith Martindale is doing with PictureDURM.  She used something as simple as a hashtag to transcend the digital space and connect with the overlooked citizens of the Bull City."
